Darüssafaka beats Oostende in Champions League (VIDEO)

First game of the season in Champions League and first loss for Dario Gjergja’s team against Darüssafaka (79-74).

Without Simon Buysse and Haris Bratanovic, both injured, Oostende started the game well (6-12 after 5′). But Darüssafaka ended the first quarter strongly (20-18 after 10′).

The team from Istanbul was still in front at half-time (39-33).

Despite being down by 15 in the third quarter, Oostende fought hard to stay in range (56-53 after 30′).

In the last quarter, Oostende was still in position to win the game but the Turkish team finished the game at the free-throw line (79-74).

Jean-Marc Mwema was the top scorer for Oostende with 20 points. Thomas Welsh was once again very active with 16 points and 9 rebounds.
