No upset win for Basketbalclub Oostende

No upset win for Basketbalclub Oostende in their Best-of-3 series against Iberostar Tenerife in the Round of 16 of the #BasketballCL as they lose the opening game on the road with the 85-75 final score.

With strong outside-shooting Tenerife took control of the game early on and at the half they were holding the 48-37 lead, before Oostende came back with a strong 3rd quarter to close the gap to 6 pts headed into the final quarter (64-58). Oostende stuck around and even came to within 2 pts in the opening minutes of the 4th quarter but in the end White & Shermadini made sure the win stayed at home as Tenerife got the 85-75 victory.

Yannick Desiron continues his strong play of these recent weeks and led Oostende with 16 pts & 4 rebs, while Loïc Schwartz added 13 pts & 4 rebs. MiKyle McIntosh also finished in double-figures scoring with his 12 pts & 4 rebs. Djordjevic chipped in with 9 pts & 5 asts and newcomer Caupain finished with 4 pts, 5 rebs & 2 asts in his second game of the season for Oostende.

In Game 2 of the series (Mar. 10) Oostende will return home to host Tenerife in an ultimate attempt to tie up the series and push it to an all-deciding Game 3 on the road.
