Liège Basket announced today that the club will not play in 2020 in Euromillions Basketball League and in the Belgian Cup. Liege will ask to report all of his games at home and away scheduled in November and December 2020. The games should be played in January 2021. The club also announced that despite a difficult financial situation, the club has found solutions to continue his adventure in EMBL.
Because of the pandemic, every club has the possibility to ask to the league the report of the games that they are supposed to play at home in 2020.
“After reflection and consultation within its Board of Directors, VOO Liège Basket decides to continue its adventure, solutions have been found. However, because the club relies on the support of its partners, out of respect for them but also for its supporters and subscribers, VOO Liège Basket has decided to postpone all of its November and December games, at home and away to January 2021. The Club would like to thank its players and staff for the renewed confidence in its board, but also its partners who have decided to continue to support it and those who are joining us. Never give up, just move on !”, says Liege Basket.
Liège will not be the only club to ask the report of his games. Aalst, Limburg and Leuven, among others, have asked the report of their first home games. It’s a diffucult task for EMBL clubs to play without the home games revenues.
